Tourist Attractions along Route 105 Tak-Mae Sod

               Museum of Indigenous Arts and Culture is situated in the compound Educational Welfare School, 12 kilometres away from the city of Tak. It exhibits a collection of arts and culture of each region of Thailand and of 6 hilltribes residing in Tak such as Maew, Lisu, Lahu, Yao, Karen, Akha. The museum also demonstrates the production Of hilltriber’s silver ornaments.  

               Lan Sang National Park is located at Ban Lan Sang, Tambon Mae Tor,  Amphoe Muang Tak. Among its attractions are many waterfalls such as Lan Sang, Pha Lad,Lan Liang Ma, Pha Nguen, Pha Yoi and Pha Thae

               Tak Centre for Hilltribers Care and Development Doi Muser is the domicile of Various hilltribers such as black Lahu, Hmong and Lisu.                Doi Muser Crops Research Station is situated on Thanon Thongchai Mountain,  900 metres above the sea level. The Tak-Mae Sod route is the area for cold climate crops such as tea, coffee, fruits and flowers, The average temperature is 4 degree celcius in winter and 25 degree celcius in summer. During November-December, Bua Tong flowers (a kind of wild sunflowers) around the Station blossom, waiting to welcome visitors.
  
               Lifestyle of Hilltribers of Doi Muser
  
               Lisu Hilltribers have a simple lifestyle. They live in one-storey houses with soil ground, The houses are built from bamboo sticks with died grass roofs. They live on farming. Their food is plain, similar to chinese food. Their New Year is corresponded to Chinese New Year and is regarded as an important occasion. During the New Year celebration, they will make a ceremony to worship the spirits of their ancestors. Lisu’s women wear long-sleeve blue or pale green blouses with matching knee-length Pants, red knee-wrapping and black turbans. They noramlly wear silver ornaments around their necks and on their chests. Lisu’s men wear long-sleeve velvet shirts, blue or pale green trousers and white turbans.  

               Black Lahu Hilltribers also live a simple life. They live in a high house made  from bamboo sticks, the roofs are covered by grass. Their food is spicy. The New Year festival is regarded as significant event and the black Lahu will hold ceremonies to worship house spirits, land spirits and holy spirits. Black Lahu’s women wear long-sleeved black blouses with white stripes at the blouses’rims. Both sleeves have white, red and blue stripes. The pants have wide legs and their length goes below the knees. They also wrap black and white cloths around the front of their legs. Black Lahu’s men wear black wide-legged trousers and wide-sleeved black shirts, lined with blue cloth.  

               Maew Hilltribers is hard-working. Their only source of income is from agricultural Products. Their houses are one-storeyed, built on a soil ground, from bamboo sticks and grass. They worship ancestors and clean their houses to greet the New Year. They will drink maize liquor from bulls’ horns and wear new clothes and colourful silver accessories on New Year’s Day.  

               Taksin Maharat National Park is located at tambon Mae Tor and Pa Wor.  It is a forest with various high-altitude mountains and magnificent scenery.                Indigenous Products of Doi Muser Hilltribers Market  At Km. 28 Tak-Mae Sod is the Hilltriber Cultural Centre and a market for indigneous products  such as clothes,silverware and agricultural products. Hilltriber’s cultural performances are performedevery Saturday and Sunday.  Mysterious Hill is a small hill on Tak-Mae Sod route at Km. 68. When a car is parked  at the foot of the hill, engine off, it will be self-driven up the hill.
  
               Pha Wor Shrine is situated on a hill at the foot of Pha Wor mountain between Km. 62 and Km. 63. The shrine is worshipped by Tak residents.
