Tourist Attractions in Amphoe Umphang

               Ban Bo Ran ( Ancient House ) Umphang is a small community with simple lifestyle as reflected in its culture. Most of the houses in Umphang are one-storeyed, with roof cover made of locally found materials such as banana leaves, wooden pieces and terracotta. At present, TAT joins hands with Umphang residents in launching a home Stay protramme, with an objective to allow tourists to learn about country life and local folklore. Ban Bo Ran

               Ta Kho Bi Cave is located in Ban Mae Klong Mai. Inside the cave are magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. The cave is 3 kilometres dept and has a walkway through to Ban Mae Klong Mai.

               Thi Lo Su Watefall is in the Umphang wildlife Sanctuary. It is a great waterfall with the width of highest level of 500 metres, the hight of 300 metres. It is considered the biggest and most beautiful waterfall in Thailand and one of the six biggest waterfalls of the world. Travelling by car up to the office of the sanctuary is possible during November to May. In the rainy season, the trip to Thi Lo Su can be done by rafting along Mae Klong River and continue by foot for approximately 4-5 hours.

Thi Lo Su Watefall

               Thi Lo Chor Waterfall is 3 km. Away from Amphoe Umphang along route Umphang-Ban Palatha. It is a medium size waterfall with the hight of 80 metres. The second tier flows down to Mae Klong river, the water spingles like the rain when it falls on the rocks. The area around is, therefore, covered with green moss and ferns the whole year round.
  
               Sepla Waterfall is a medium size waterfall pouring from a limestone cliff, down several tiers. The width of the waterfall is around 10 metres and the hights is around 50 metres. When water flows down against the rocks, image of white clound is beautifully created.
  
               Doi Hua Mot is the place to appreciate the “sea of fog” in the early morning. It issituated among several limestone hills stretching for 30 kms. There is no large tree on those hills, only some shrubs and wild flowers which blossom in the rainy season. The look-out point gives a scrnic view of Umphang and thick forest around the area.

               Palatha Karen Village is an ancient Karen village whose residents still wear traditional clothes and maintain the simple lifestyle.

               Ban Lae Tong Ku karen is a village of ethnic Karen who worship a Hermit. They are different from other Karens and they have their own rites for example lighting the fire to worship Hermit in December and worshipping meditating Buddha’s imagescarved out of a sacred 400 year-old tusk, highly revered by Lae Tong Ku villagers. (A permission from the 347th Border Patrol Police is necessary before entering into Ban Lae Tong Ku, please call (055) 561 008. It is not recommened to travel there on your Own.)

               Ban Ti Po Ji Karen is a Karen village in the middle of a wild junkle. The houses of Ti Po Ji Karen are made from logs and leaves in a tranquil natural environment. They live on farming and agriculture
